invalid windows problems

hi there, i'm new here and could use a bit of help........if anyone is willing to lend a hand. i bought my computer out of the local paper and now find that its not a genuine windows programme. i want to update to SP2 but can't get past windows validation process to download from them.i wondered if any experts out there had any idea how i can update???? many thanks,loubear

Now, for your situation, you might want to post in the "Software" section, as there are a LOT more eyes there, and someone will have an answer for you.
