    Back again. :-D
I ran a free AV DL yesterday (STOPzilla!) & it came back with 81 prob's.
I've removed some of them but the majority of them are web related (low threat) & the others are "6TO4_LEGACY".
(I don't have any key's like that). :confused
I used the editors key finder... nothing, so I used Reg assasin & still nothing.
But on the up side... I did find the culprit that was inhibiting my theme's.
    (Seek'n'Destroy... YEAH!) :major
Does anyone know why STOPzilla is telling me I've got trojan's in key's that don't seem to exist?
    :confused:confused:confused

Stopzilla is not a prog i recommend using!

Has it gave any sort of logs, as to what those problems where?

I'd uninstall it and scan with malware bytes and spybot, and a good AV.

Ah... Doing it NOW! Cheer's. ;)
Is it a marketing ploy & more then?
I do wonder about som app's.
Yeah, the list was fairly big, most of witch were "6TO4 legacy".
    I can't find 6TO4 key's???
Any well recommended app's, free. (I don't have credit card's or even a pay-pal acc).
    :(:(:(
    Cheer's dude. ;)

Binaryfreek, before you install any program but particularly an antivirus or antimalware one, type it in google and start reading. You will get an idea if it is good or bogus.

Boy do I feel stupid! Lol :-o:-o:-o
I'm not the presumptous type, although my spelling may indicate otherwise.
I am sorry. :) (forgive an old (not that old fool?))
You HAVE got me out of quite a few problem's since I uncovered this site & when I have got a working computer (with connection) I like to come back here because it feels homely.
Again, sorry for being an ignoramus. :)

    P.s. This place is GREAT!

I was looking for a site to replace Spyware Warrior. This old site, run by Eric Howes listed all the rogue antivirus programs out there. Our loss because Eric was hired by Sunbelt Software and no longer does his site. It was last updated in 2007.
Well, today I got my Sunbelt newsletter and Sunbelt has a blog site. It lists 417! YIKES bogus crapware that wants to take your money and not provide protection.

    Go here http://rogueantispyware.blogspot.com/
and in the right column, the bogus ware is listed by months.
It's a good reference when you aren't sure about a program.

Also for reference, now outdated, http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm
That's the site I always used to go to check if a program was legit.

pssst, thanks for the props but I'm too old to be a dudette. ;)
    I'm a senior citizen. :cool

Thanx for the link's, I've bookmarked them for future reference. ;)
I'll check them out later... after I've had SOME sleep. :)
I've destroyed the moody key's now but as always another prob. pop's up.
I can't get a connection anymore + this net-book won't run "Live msngr"... it freezes.
    (And I'm getting platform error's again). :(
    Hmmmmmm?!?

    Hah!!! I figured as much. What's going on with programmer's now-a-day's? :(:(:(
Computer's aren't what they used to be... What's happened to P.D. SOFTWARE???
At least it was reliable & the programmer's weren't that greedy.
    Tsk-tsk. GREED! :(

P.s. Sorry about the untimely reply.

    HI-ya.
I've tried Avira with Comodo & got a little overwhelmed with VAST UI so I took it off, twice. I'll keep them & maybe try them again one day, come back to them now & again until I'm a bit more familiar with them. I've reverted back to AVG for now but can't get a connection to update VDB & the rest of it. (KeyPort).
I'm going to bed now... I've had enough for the moment. Lol. :)
    Cheer's again. ;)

Got a question. Do you have any legacy hardware on your pc or is it connected to something of that nature?

Just out of curousity? Did you check for any file of that nature of being 6to4 Legacy?

Website I found said trojan virus, Trojan-Downloader.Win32.VB.avo [Ikarus] from Kaspersky Lab.

The website I look on is http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?md5=0504ce748f1b4d0d572cb3daaa354fd7

check it out. for possible files.?
and get rid of Stopzilla, if you haven't already. like everyone here I don't recommend that program.

Hey there Night firer. I've taken SZ off, it didn't do me any favors. :(
I've also removed Avast & Comodo due to the GUI being huge... AVG went back on but there are hole's in it now. (Res. shield & Email scanner).
I've uninstalled & re-installed several time's & still end up with the same result.
    (Humph).
    Any clue's?
Also... (I don't know if any1 else is having Live messenger prob's again).
I'm getting update error's on ALL aspect's of the the update itself & I can't cont. until the update has run.
(update, update, update, update, update, update, update, update). Lol.

Hey binary, it is not good practise to chop and change AV's and firewalls to much, this is because they embed themselves deeply into your computer and typically dont uninstall as well as they should :(

You wan to run the removal tools for all the security app's you have mentioned, then run ccleaner and restart...

Then reinstall the AV + Firewall of your choice.. you should find you have less problems this way :)

The comodo removal can be done manually BUT... If you scroll down to the bottom of the first post in this link, you will find a link to a batch script that can do the job for you.

Cheer's ~Q~... I've just seen the Comodo page, (RAA!) it's huge. Lol.
I think I'll do it later as it's getting past my bed-time here & I've only just got this net-book on again. I'll put the AVG app on the rig & go through the Comodo list tomorrow (later on).
    Once again, thanks. ;)

    Sorry about the late reply.
I think my keyboard may be something to do with LEGACY, not to sure.
Plus, I've never seen a Trojan called Ikarus before... or at least it's never been detected.
    (pause for thought)
