InvokeSvc problem

I have been trying to run an installation disk (for a Belkin USB wifi adapter). Part way through, the process closes with a message which includes "InvokeSvc.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". Multiple copies of the invoke file are copied into a Belkin program file during this process.
I am running windows 2000, with service pack 4 on an old Toshiba Tecra 780 machine. The usb port works normally for everything else.
It has previously worked, though I suspect a picked up a virus, and have since reformated the hard drive.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated, do I need some USB drivers?

 

Since you reformatted your laptop. have you gone to Toshiba's site and updated all drivers

Many thanks for your thought, unfortunately they don't appear to have any drivers for the Tecra 780DVD model (that I can see). Out of interest, do you think if I were to install another operating system, that it might cure the problem? Cheers

The link does not seem to work, it brings up all downloads for all models. You would have to select your model. Sorry for any confusion putting the link up.

Sorted! Many many thanks. I still got the InvokeSvc.exe message at one stage when loading the belkin product after resetting bios. but second time round it worked!
