    Hi

I have the free version of Iobit's Advanced SystemCare (version 3.6.0.) and I am considering upgrading to the PRO version. I just wanted to get people's opinion on this application. I am not having any problems with it and it seems OK to me. I would be particularly interested to hear the opinions of anyone who has used the free version and upgraded to the PRO version. Is it really any better?

I emailed Iobit and their reply didn't really impress me when they described the additional features, e.g. deep registry cleaning. I've heard that cleaning, defragging, etc. of Registry is overrated and that in many cases Registry is best left well alone. If I do choose to clean my Registry I use the registry cleaning utility in CCleaner.

The other big aspect that Iobit tried to sell about the product was its defragmenting utility. I already use and am quite happy with Smart Defrag.

I know that the PRO version is only US$19.95 (about£13.79) but at the moment that would be an extravagants for me if the PRO version isn't really that much better.

    Thanks

Personally I wouldn't bother, but if you feel you need the advanced features then it would probably be a good buy.

I was hoping for some more constructive responses. I am interested in hearing from people who have had the free version and subsequently upgraded to the PRO version. Is it any better? Were they glad they upgraded, and why? Do they wish they hadn't bothered, and why?

I have IObit Pro. Yes, I like it. I have no major problems with my computer. If anything starts running a bit funky I do a deep scan and it seems to fix it right away. The one feature I like is that you can do a quick scan or a deep one. It also comes with a bunch of other applications that can be useful. All in all, I feel it was worth the 19.95. I put it on my Mom's computer too and she likes it. Have had IObit on my puter for quite some time. Purchased the Pro version probably about 4 or 5 months ago. Hope this helps.

I have both versions of advanced Windows Care, but raely bother to install the Pro version, as although it offers more, I found that you had to be more careful how you use it. As I know my own computer pretty well, even this new one, that I have, I find the free version is adequate, and is less likely to cause a crash- funnily enough I just reinstalled the free version , updated it, and used it to correct a load of errors that I got when copying Windows 7 on to another partition, and it sorted out the majority so that I could do the rest .
