recently purchased the box - but it had version 7.5... now for some reason I can not get to their web site to download the latest version.

    http://download.iolo.net/sm/8pro/trial/smpro_dm.exe

iolo uses a download manager - but I can NOT even get that to download - I get a "page can not load" error.

when I ran the address at dnstools.com - it stated that the site is down!!

OK - anyone else able to get to the download area?? Or is it something isolated to my location??

this is also NOT a firewall or popup blocker issue - as I turned them off and still received the same error connecting to that web page!

    Any assistance - greatly appreciated.

The link you provided above goes directly to a download dialog. Since it isn't working for you, I downloaded it and attached it below. In other words, I had no problems accessing the site, so it must be on your end.

    I hope this helps!

WHAT is going on at my end? I was able to launch the download manager - (thank you for attaching that!) BUT it can not connect to the iolo software...

I am using PCTools Firewall Plus 4.0.0.45 (free version, but registered) - and I gave SMPRO_DM.EXE full privileges. Still will not work - error's out with unable to connect to the internet.

    ???

Any ideas as to what to try - not a big fan of uninstalling all my security software just to get software. This is the ONLY site that has fought me on being able to download (I purchase software on a regular basis and download without a hitch).

Since your firewall is a free version, uninstall it, and reboot, and see if that makes any difference. It may be another piece of security software; maybe the SM web site requires an Active X component or a certain cookie or Java applet to run in order to get the download manager to work, and it could be that your security software is set up to block these things. Maybe you can add an exclusion to one of your security apps. I'm not an expert in the detailed use of all security apps so you'd have to figure this out on your own... I'm just trying to point you in the right direction. Maybe check the Event Viewer and see if anything there offers a clue. And how about the Iolo Support Page?
