Iomega CDRW problem

    The Iomega CD-RW using Nero to burn shows 100% buffer but stops there and won't process any further. Then the Iomega starts a cycle of revving up and slowing down, and even using task mngr won't turn the stupid thing off. What could be making it do this?

    What type of media are you trying to burn onto, is it cd-r or cd-rw?

    its CD-RW media. But even when i unplug the usb cable the external Iomega machine keeps whirring away, slowing down and whirring.
