Iomega Zip100 click of death?

Our company has an Iomega Zip 100 parallel port drive, with a lot of disks holding archived data. We tried to run it for the first time in several years today, and having plugged it in and downloaded the drivers, inserted a disk.

At first it seemed to be working, and some folders and files appeared in explorer. However it did make a strange repeated clicking sound. Stupidly I ejected the disk, then reinserted it. This time the disk was not recognised, and even though the clicking noise has stopped, windows does not detect the disks I have tried.

Some searching around and I am now aware of the click of death problem. I've tried the free software Trouble in Paradise (TIP) but all versions I've been able to find say they're programmed to expire in January 2010. The version on this site is dated 2004!

Any suggestions? I'm aware that theres a good chance the drive is broken and the disks we've tried to read might be corrupted irrevocably, but if there is any way to confirm whether that's the case or if there's a newer version of TIP, I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know.

You may try going to Nirsoft and downloading RunAsDate to roll the clock back so the program will operate.
