Today i receive my brand new usb 2.0 zipdrive external.

So i transfert my data the new zipdrive i plug the two zip drive.

zipdrive 1.1 F: and the new one G:

So i transfert everething thing go well...

But now when i plug my new zipdrive the letter is still G:

The old zipdrive is not plug anymore...

So what i do to change my letter to F:

And i when i plug my new zipdrive i did not install driver i plug the thing
and windows tell me new hardware found and a few seconds later tell me
the thing is install an ready to go...

Because i did not see much speed increase between the 1.1 and 2.0 USB.

Do i need to install the driver that come with my usb 2.0.

I have install on my machine windows XP Pro SP1a english.

normally when you reboot, it changes the drives (extras) when you plug them in (or turn them on). meaning, if i have nothing plugged in (on bootup). i have A-G drive, the next thing i plug in (zip drive, memory card reader, etc.), or add (network drive) would be "H" drive (unless it asks, and you assign it a letter). if you have usb 2.0, and you plug your device (zip drive) into that, it should recognize it as that. if it's a usb 2.0 device, and you don't have a usb 2.0 port on your computer, then you get this message (pic). - sos

THank you for your reply sosaman.

I did not receive the message: This USB device can perform faster......

So i can't change my letter back to F: ? for my usb 2.0 ...

i don't think you can select which letter it assigns them? i think it just assigns it a letter when you plug something in. on my 1st pic, i have nothing extra plugged in on my computer. on the 2nd one, i plugged in my thumbdrive (portable memory), then my external h/d, that's where i get the "H" and "I" drive. - sos
