    Hi,
I am having problems accessing the internet. I have a wireless signal and my computer is getting an ip address, but I can't actually bring up any websites.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

    What OS are you using?
    What router/modem do you have?
Which lights are on on the modem/router?
Does any other computer work with the internet connection?

In addition to collinsl's info request, have you tried a hard reset on the modem and router? That is, power down everything, then power up the modem, router, and the PC in that order? OH, and check to make sure you're modem is not on "STANDBY"...

My computer (HP/Compaq) is running Windows XP. I don't know what the system in my current apartment building is; but I had the same problem at my last apartment where we were using a Belkin linksys system. And yes, other computers work. Restarting has been tried so many times with no luck.
