Recently I am getting "Mail Delivery Fail" error messages informing me my email was not delivered because IP address is blacklisted. Is this a virus?

    I'd go here: http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip-lookup

    Click on look up IP.

Under General IP info, you'll see a Blacklist Check button. Click on that and see if your IP is showing in any of them.

    I'd also call your ISP.

It could be that bots are sending out spam via your IP address. I can't say if it's your computer that is infected. Honestly, that's how a lot of spam gets sent out. Computers are turned into slaves via malware and spam is sent out that way. Sites will wind up blacklisting an IP for that. Chances are you have a dynamic IP which is part of your ISP and it changes and is also shared by others. I'd suggested resetting your router (unplug it....which may change your IP address) and see if that helps.

Are you getting the rejection message for all emails or just for specific domains such as someone at aol<dot>com.

Here is a error message I got when I sent an email from the one below to my hotmail.com email.

SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<xxxxxx@kisnahospitality.com> SIZE=34384:
host mx3.hotmail.com [65.55.37.120]: 550 SC-001 (COL0-MC4-F7) Unfortunately, messages from 63.141.248.250 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors

The 63.141.248.250 isn't the same ip address that comes up when I log into "what's my ip" site. The email I'm having trouble with is a work email..mail server.

I have experienced such problems with AOL in the past when using private mail servers. They seem to use a whitelist instead of a blacklist. If your ISP's reverse DNS entry isn't on their whitelist, they will reject your mail. This may be whats happening here with hotmail.com/live.com.

A call to your ISP may fix the problem or you may need to establish a reverse DNS entry for the private mail server, kisnahospitality.com.

So, if I'm reading it right, Hotmail has rejected your email due to:

63.141.248.250 is the IP address for the @kisnahospitality.com company(?) that you are using. http://www.ip-adress.com/whois/kisnahospitality.com

I would suspect that they are the ones that were blacklisted by Hotmail for sending spamlike email.

    What is kisnahospitality?

You might still want to contact your ISP, however I think this may be an issue with the above mentioned email service.

Also, are you having any issue sending email via hotmail or any other email services, or is is just the kisnahospitality one?

Based on the IP address in your post, 63.141.248.250, it doesen't have a proper reverse DNS entry indicating a mail server. A lot of email services such as yahoo and hotmail will reject email on that basis alone.

A call to whoever is the ISP for the business can correct that.
