    HI..

I run XP professional, and have Verizon DSL. I have been detting disconnected from server all the time... Sometimes it will reconnect if I do a "repair" in the network connections, and sometimes I get a message saying it could'nt renew my IP address.

Taking a closer look at "network connection details" I see that my "lease obtained" and "lease expireses" have only a fifteen minute span between them. ..

I also noticed that the "default gateway" and "DHCP server" numbers are the same. Any help would be appreciated.. Thank you.

lease time is set by the DHCP server.. don't know why they would have it set for 15 minute refreshes.. that's really aggressive. You probably already did this, but power off your DSL modem (unplug if necessary) and leave it off for 20 minutes (make a snack, watch some TV) and then power it back on. See if you get a different DHCP server and lease time.

Eureka!!! Thanks, thats great. I spoke to them days ago, and they insisted it was a problem with my computer. After reading this I will call them back, and get it taken care of for sure. I just wasn't positive before... but It's on now!!
