IP scanner which allows for wild card hostnames

Im just wondering if there are any ip scanners out there that allow you to scan hostnames using wild cards

eg. *.abc.com

Maybe you specify * = 3 characters A-Z,0-9 and it will scan AAA.abc.com AAB.abc.com etc etc

Any ideas?

 

None that I'm aware of. I'm curious though why you would be looking for some tool of such function.

 

IP scanner is usually an application that scan a Network and provides the IPs of the Network Devices.

Here is an example of an IP scanner output.

3 computers on a LAN their IP, Name, MAC address, Ping time, and OS.

192.168.111.155 Main8 00-50-8D-B3-E4-66 0 ms Windows08
192.168.111.222 C-7 00-40-4D-0B-4EAE 1 ms Windows XP
192.168.111.254 Buffalo 00-36-01-8C-01-AA 2 ms Buffalo

From your post it is Not clear what you are looking for.

 

Spiceworks can do something like what youre trying to do. You set up what ip address range you want to scan and it will inventory your network within the ranges specified. I use it for pretty much everything that it offers.

The OP example is Not IPs and even Not host name.

His example looks like Domain names *.com

When you deal with multiple domain they are on different IPs different subnet and a regular scanner can not deal with it.

You can use Fast Resolver and resolve multiple domains but it would work with wildcard.
