My uncle lives in the boonies and has a verizon 4glte wireless mifi hub. It's not connecting to his XP running dell, not even showing an ip address, subnetmask, or gateway ip. all it says is media disconnected. He brought it over to my house and I'm able to connect with my laptop. I've ripped the wireless and network adapters and re-installed. He can't connect to my at&t uverse wifi either. Netsh commands also didn't work. Can anybody help me? This shit is ridiculous. It's his birthday so I'd like to get it back working for him.

Is this something that was working and stopped or something that has not been able to be made to work on that specific laptop?

Happy Birthday to Uncle of irishjayhawk!

    - Can you connect his computer to your network via ethernet?
    - Did a service in the Administrator Tools > Services get turned off?
    - What malware and firewall programs are on there, could something have been set to stop all traffic? I used to love that setting on some old firewall program I used to use. Sure kept nosey people off my computer when I wasn't home!

That is just to start. If none of that helps, please let us know.
