hi, got a friend who is just about to order an ipod mini and wants to know if you can copy songs you've downloaded from kazaa onto them. i told him i thought it was just a drag and drop any file over, but he's not too sure whether you have to have iTunes and pay for the songs. am i right or is he?

Yes, you can put any songs on the iPod as long as it is a supported file format, no matter the source.

MP3 and AAC is the preferred format for the iPod. You do not have to buy songs to put them on your iPod.
Stay away from WMA, they will not work.
