ipod help, for a newb

    My buddy gave me an Ipod! When i plug in the usb, it wont work says malfunction. If I go into BIOS and turn off 2.0 usb, it works fine but is slow, and wont completely finish the upload.
    its an Ipod Mini, and I could love it soon if someone coulld give me a hand with it :)\
