Ipod/Hidden files??

Ok, I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post this..

I have an Ipod RCA 116A 6GiG ... Most of my music files were held on my old computer, that has WINME, I got all of my songs to transfer just fine, and I can see and listen to them just fine, however, when I plug the ipod in to my WinXP, when I go to view the files or delete any, none of the old files are listed there. I'm sure maybe it's a compaitibility problem, but anyone know how i can fix it so winxp will recognize my files, so if i needed to delete a few to make more room then I would be able too??
