Ipod touch app backup

So i bought an ipod touch second hand and i want to reformat so i can sync it to my computer but i want to save one app does anyone know of a program that can remove and save apps to your computer?
Its a 32g 2gen ipod touch and i have windows XP SP3
i looked around on the forums to see if i could find a thread of similar topic but with no avail, so please redirect me if there is such a thread.

Hi

Is it not one that is free and you can download again from the app store?

Is this app now transfered to your iTunes library of apps?

Off hand when you reset to factory your apps and music etc stays in iTunes libraries (so make sure iTunes is fully upto date) the you just add them again, but I'm going to be doing a factory reset of my iphone at weekend and the touch (which I have one of as well) runs the same, so I can test this to let you know 99.9% that the apps are saved in iTunes and can be put back, I think they are as I have reset my Touch before and didn't loose any apps, they just need to be in the iTunes library.

The thing is I didn't buy the apps the guy I bought it from did. So I'm looking for a third party program that could back up my apps.
