iRocks USB 4 port hub problem

I have an iRocks 4-port hub. When connecting my smartphone thru it, my PC recognizes the phone as new hardware and starts the driver search routine. The phone has been otherwise connected to the same PC for months. The hub is a recent addition to my PC and have yet to use it much. How might I find out if there is a problem with the hub?
The few other devices (card reader and Kodak camera) I have tried with the hub seem to operate the same as if connected direct to PC. So far, the phone is the only device with a problem, but it works fine when connected direct to PC.

Any suggestions?
