Ironic problem with Process Lasso

Recently, I downloaded the program Process Lasso to help my computer run more efficiently (specifically this program is used for the processes run on the computer). Process Lasso is supposed to increase responsiveness of the computer by temporarily lowering the priority of a process using a lot of memory but the ironic thing with my problem is that when I now run the program it seems to sloooooooooooooow the responsiveness of the comuter (and in an obvious way I might add) to where the computer runs like it only has 128 MB of RAM in it or something (which it actually has 1024 MB of RAM in it). Not sure what to do here so any help would be appreciated (really would like to use this program or a similar other program for better efficiency). Thanx

    Hi Twistid,

Just my opinion here but first uninstall Process Lasso. Here is the problem... with only 128 MB of ram all your processes are consuming lots of processor time. So Lasso is going to in effect slow down your entire system.

The real fix would be to upgrade your ram to 512 or 1024 (1 gig). Doing this you will see a big boost in performance. And RAM is cheap these days.

The single best upgrade to incease system performance is ram. I wouldn't go over a gig as very few appplications can utilize the higher available ram. So for instance if you upgraded to 3 gigs (some newer system will accept this and more) you will find that the ram above 1 gig is seldom used. This is due to the current program architecture but maybe someday most apps will use all available RAM.

Ummm...itguy....you might reread Twistid's post. He has 1 gig installed. Its acting like only 128 MB.

LMAO! I was reading so fast the 128 MB stuck out! Sorry Twistid, my mistake.

I still vote to uninstall the app. If you can't tell it which processes to throttle then it will slow down core windows processes as well and then your system will be running slow as it is now.
