i am considering buying this mobo:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1024713&sku=A455-1038

and I am wondering how good the ATI chipset (North bridge = ATI Radeon 9100 IGP, southbridge = ATI IXP 150) is, or should I look for an nVidia or VIA? Im thinking it would be more compatible with my video card, though i could be wrong.
This site gave it a good review:

but i got that link from asus, so of cource they're going to give me a site with a good review

also just out of curiousity ... what is the difference between this RAM:

    and this:

aside the neat lil' holographic sticker of course and the price

the difference in the ram is that the second one has a different latency and is better there, it says its made for dual channeling and im not sure if the first one is or not so if they both are the second might be able to optimize it a little better, not sure though, and the second one also has the cover over it which i beleive helps with heat? otherwise without a little reseach thats all i see

Maybe the Radeon based chipset is not proven.

However, overall, onboard ATI video chipsets have been around for a very, very long time.

They are definately proven with mainboards.

Certainly not for gaming though. But then, I wouldn't go onboard Nvidia or Intel either for that.

    Stupid 3 minute timer.

Disregard the above. I misread the first post. :)

I would go Nvidia as the motherboard chipset, too.

The chipset does not have to be compatible with your video card. You could have an ATI card and an nVidia chipset, or a nVidia card and an Intel chipset, etc. If you already have a video card, don't get a motherboard with onboard video. You're just wasting your money.
