Is Ccleaner Still A Good App?

I’ve come across an article* that says CCleaner is no longer the good app it was, especially since Avast purchased Piriform. Would anyone agree and advise I uninstall it? Anyone think it’s a good app and they still use it? The article is almost three years old so perhaps Avast have improved things and it’s still a good app.

I use it and like it. Does 'cleaning' make your device run noticeably faster? No. Is it a 'must have'? No.

I use mine to quickly clean browser history and unwanted cookies (you whitelist the ones you want to keep). Actually, I'd rather do that within my Firefox browser, but FF stupidly allows no whitelisting and extensions like 'cookie auto delete' do a poor (farcical?) job.

I’ve been disappointed with CCleaner of late. I have the paid version which gives priority support & had to use it to report a bug but their reply was disappointing. Took several replies to convince them there was a bug. They kept giving me instructions on how to block newer drivers when the bug is that their driver updater is offering older drivers as newer than installed. I think the free version will be enough the next time the subscription is due.
