Is every switch a hardware firewall?

    Nope, no switchs are firewalls, unless its a router/firewall/switch

    could you install the nVidia firewall outside of an nVidia chipset?

    No as its built into the chipset, but your best bet is to get a router if you only need a limited number of ports.

    If you are trying to use ICS, you will need a switch. Not a router. A router will not work. But if you are sharing the connection straight from the cable modem to the router, ASUS is correct, you'll definitely want a router.

    Awesome. Thanks everyone. I use Zone Alarm. I've been using Zone Alarm for years. Very happy with it. But I'm also the most paranoid person ever. I actually keep my computer in a giant safe.
