why does the utility RemoveIT Pro Se detects firefox as a virus agent? thanks majorgeeks.

Firefox is if downloaded from a reputable website is a safe browser, only thought I have is that as many security applications suffer from time to time from "false positives" is thats whats happening in this case... no doubt the makers of that app will update their definition files to remove this false positive in due course. I ran this app for a bit and it more often flagged legit files as malware adn deleting such files would render some apps un usable and needing re-install.

try running other malware scanners to double check.

thanks bro, i tried scanning with other utilities and its not detected as a threat however i uninstalled firefox already and im using k-meleon and netscape instead. all my utils are downloaded here, i trust majorgeeks bigtime. im just a little bit confused bec my impression of firefox is that it is high-appraised in the I.T. industry and i know that they wont use spyware or anything, just want to know if there are still many out there using it firefox.

I only use firefox and all my friends do to. I would suggest it to anyone who asked. Never had my antivirus and antispyware apps pick it up in any scan. Very powerful browser and i love it!

Using it, yes while I more often use IE or Opera I do have Firefox installed.
