Is it just me or did the main website change.

There is no option to log into forums.

If the problem is with your phone, then I have no clue.

    You need to bookmark
    Code:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php
    rather than the main page.

The regular vertical left margin of the home page is not displaying on my pc either...the one that shows the various options for software, hardware, anti-virus, anti-malware, graphics, internet tools, etc. It happened about two days ago.

Have you tried a different browser?

The Homepage displays as always on my PC using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

I don't see the left column in Palemoon and FF ESR.

I do see it in IE 11 and Vivaldi.

Same issue in IE 11 as with Chrome

I have no problem with Chrome.

We're just curious about a plausible explanation for why some users are experiencing this condition

Can someone post a screenshot of this. I just checked every FF, Chrome, IE and they are all fine.

I'd check your addons. Considering some are not having any issues, that sounds like it could be the problem.

Are those shots of things missing? Looks okay to me.

No, these are what I see when visiting the main site - no problems at all.
I have posted them as a reference as both browsers are outdated and have adblockers.

    Edit: Windows 7 Ultimate.

Here is how Chrome and IE 11 are now rendering the MG home page on my Win7 pc.

This using Palemoon Win 7 32 bit Home Premium.

I disabled uBlockOrigin and allowed everything in noscript and still the left pane is missing.

Now this makes no sense at all. I fired up my 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium with the same version of Palemoon and the same addons and the left pane shows!

Have you tried Control - and then enlarging the window?

I forgot to add to the above - both computers are running the exact same 32 bit version of Palemoon and both computers have exactly the same addons!

I refreshed the page on both computers with no change. One shows the left column and the other doesn't.

The computer that doesn't show the left pane is running at 768 x 1024. I don't think I want to make the window larger.

The one that shows the left pane is running at 1366 x 768

Well thanks TimW. I changed the resolution down to 95% on the 768 x 1024 and the left pane now shows.
That would have driven me crazy all day!

I resolved the issue in IE11 after adding the MG site to Compatibility View. I cannot find a similar tweak in Chrome settings.

Is it the consensus then that the issue is not site related? If not then why is the home page rendering without the Files list on the left, and the Top Downloads list on the right? Affected users need access to these features.

@ wile Look at the first part of the link you posted http://m.majorgeeks.com
indicates mobile site. When I am asked if I want that on my 10.1" tablet I always say NO!

There isn't much difference between my 10.1" tablet and my 11" netbook.
Now if I were browsing on my 5" phone, I might want the mobile display.

@triton Have you adjusted your display?
In your browser, hold down the control key while pressing the - sign. The left pane will display first. If you press the - sign again, the right pane will appear.
To see the left, my browser has to be set to 95%; to see the right 85%.
