Why is it the wife will intentionally say or do something to make me mad (she has told me so) for entertainment value, then when I get mad she gets mad because I got mad!!! It's insane!!!!

And also...anybody elses significant other claim to be a "computer widow"??

She get's upset because I play on the computer instead of watching her watch tv!!

But when I bring home a hundred dollar check for fixing someones computer, she smiles from one ear to another!!

    It's a loose loose situation!!

    But I love her!!!

    There...I feel better now!!!

    How about everyone else??

it all comes down to being able to negotiate how the 2 parties involved can get their wants and needs met. you give a little on one end to get a little on the other. problem is that for it to work it requires honesty and the ability to accept honesty.

trying to piss your partner off intentionally for ANY reason. is a real poor place to start from. sounds passive aggresive at best and and down right mean at worst.

    she needs a hobby
I had an ex who picked fights out of boredom...lol
luckily I don't have that problem anymore, we're both computer geeks/gamers so time spent isn't a problem on either side. ;)

It was all just a joke really!! We've been together for 5 years now and i've never been happier!! We're both guilty as charged, we just love to pick on one another!! I guess you could say it is kind of like Raymond's mom and dad on "Everybody Loves Raymond". Kind of like my grandparents were, and they were happilly married for 60 years!!!!

It's just interesting when you sit down and analyse it, how someone can set out to get you and then when you get mad...they get mad because you got mad...when making you mad was their intention all along!! LOL

As far as watching tv with her...I was thinking more along the lines of a blow-up doll or a maniquin (i think I spelled that right) to sit there with her!!! :D

Just thinking out loud...It's all in good fun!!

my wife and I almost got divorced because I was on the PC too much. She was in public accounting and I literally didn't see her for 4 months in a row every year. After a few years of that, I started to pick up computer stuff , websites, gaming etc and gradually we drifted in different directions with different interests. It took a year of marriage counseling to get to know each other again. She started her own business and is still busy but atleast I see her all the time.. Heck, now that we have our son around (almost 2 years old), life couldn't be better regardless of how stressful life situations can be.. aka cashola.

thats how my girlfriend is, she'll call while me and a couple of my friends are tearing through diablo, and she gets all mad cuase i won't just sit there and look at the wall while she is talking about anything and everything boring, so i just mute my end of the phone, put on my headset and keep going, lol. she still doesn't know that i never say a word when she calls me. lol

If you find everything she has to say boring, perhaps she'd be better off without you.

To get, ya gotta give. The only question that needs to be answered is this: "Is what I want to get worth what I have to give?" The neat thing about being in love (not lust . . . LOVE) is you never have to ask that question - or so I have found.

Problem with marriage these days is...most folks go into one with the thought of getting divorced. I have the best ol' lady anyone could ever ask for. Not sure how I got 'er, but I ain't lettin' go. :D We have our moments, but then who doesnt? We've only had a couple fights in the 10 years we've been together & even those weren't worth gettin' divorced over.

    Hence my name. ;)

I've said this before, but it seems appropriate, so I'm going to repeat myself!! :p

Marriage isn't about seeing what you can GET from your spouse...it's about what you can GIVE your spouse. And that should be 100% giving. 100% is NOT you giving 50% and your spouse giving 50%...because then all you have still is 50%...it's about you giving 100% and your spouse ALSO giving 100%. That way you are both giving it your all. And if you are giving it your all you will make your spouse happy which will make them want to give even more back :D

Even the experts will say that a LITTLE fussing is healthy!!! Nobody is perfect enough that it isn't going to sometimes urk the other...if so...GET A LIFE!!!!

I love my wife to death, otherwise I wouldn't have married her, and I'm sure not going to let a couple of little indifferences change that!!!!

I was basically speaking in general terms...I don't sit at the computer all night EVERY night...and she doesn't continuously pick on me to make me mad either!! I just found those two instances amusing when you sit down and analyse them!!

Unfortunately, I belive, that alot of people get married because they don't really understand what love is, and haven't experienced the world enough to really understand what all IS all out there!!!! I, on the other hand...Didn't get married until I was thirty...and already had suffered alot of the trials and tribulations of life in general, so being that she is only a year younger than me and she also has also has experienced alot of life experiences already...I felt that we are the perfect couple!!!!!

If you believe in destiny....I would say me and my wife would be a perfect example of destiny in my opinion!!!!

I find it amusing that most of those in my graduating class, that got married right out of high school...are no longer together...and it's only been 12 years!!

I did'nt want to get in to this but just imagine your wife was killed by a drunk driver. And all the things you wanted to say to her, you will never be able to again. And every time you think of her your stomach twists into a sailor knot. And when you see things, that you will everday that remind you of her. You will wish that evertime you were on the computer she was siting on your lap laughing at you and taking all your valuable time. Every second if you could.

  23. rogvalcox

    rogvalcox MajorGeek

That is very true!!!!!!!!!!!! But at the same time...in reality, each of you need your own life to a certain extent!! You can't spend every waking moment side by side...or you will kill one another...I don't care how perfect of a couple you are!!!!!

    That's just my opinion anyway!!

I'm just guessing here that "amusing" was a bad choice of word...because I don't see the funny side at all.

I did...but mostly because at my five-year class reunion, all the married fresh out of high school couples were really quite obnoxious about how awful it was that I was still single, like it was some kind of disease. Then came the ten-year reunion, when about 85% of them had gotten divorced...and I was still single...when they all told me how smart I was to have not gotten married.

  26. rogvalcox

    rogvalcox MajorGeek

    Easy there killer!!! LOL

I didn't mean that I thought it was funny...I guess a better choice of words would have been..."interesting"!!

I didn't go to my class reuinion (I was out of town) but being that I'm from a close knit community of 10,000...it's not hard to keep up with what is going on with your former classmates...and what you said is pretty much what I witnessed!!! In fact some of them have been married and divorced twice by now!! I'm definately glad I didn't fall into that trend!!!
