Since this has nothing to do with my thread (in other section, about the virus I have) I posted it here... because... This is a question I've had for a long time.

I use FireFox... & when I go to sites that have multiple ads to popup... FF will block a couple... but then another will pop up.

Is this normal? If not... is it something I need to wait to get results back on my Malware submission?

Or do I need some type of firewall or additional security??

I've had this problem / question long before my computer got a virus... & the same thing happens on my hubby's computer along with other friends & relatives... That's why I want to know if it's normal to still get some popups??

Just thought I'd ask. (I didn't see it asked anywhere else.)

    Thanks, LH! :cool

No program is absolutely infallible. Sometimes things do slip by.
Occasionally it gets past your defenses because it is a legitimate piece of the site, rather than some third-party add-on.
I wouldn't worry too much unless it becomes excessive or about some sites from the "wrong side of the tracks".

    I thought that might be...

Though... the ads that pop up are things like NetFlix or other things like that. (That's the one that I remember, because it's the one that pops up the most after FF has sent a message saying it's blocked at least 1 already!)

Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated! :)

I have not seen a popup in years.
Sites have ads but do legitimate sites also have popups?

I run AdMuncher (it is a paid program but I love it so much I've purchased it for three computers) in windows and AdBlock plus in linux because AdMuncher won't run under linux.
AdMuncher does have a 30 day no risk trial. You can use it for a month and see how much faster surfing becomes without all the popup annoyances.
