IS it possible to intergrate XP to Media Center?

If I go out to BEst BUy and buy XP w/ mediacenter can I just pop in the cdn and hit a button that intergrates Media CEnter into my already XP profeesional computer.

OS: XP Professional 2002 SP2
Processor: 2.52
RAM: 1GB

Any other info please tell me.

 

Your PC must be Media Center ready as it has very specific hardware requirements.

 

Aight letz say that I have the hardware requirements now can I do that with my above question?

 

From the quick google checks I did, MCE is NOT usuable as an upgrade CD.

Though, you MAY be able to try a repair with this cd. Doubt it will work.

MCE is only sold to OEMs by the way.

Is there a particular reason that you need MCE instead of Pro?

Yes because of my XBOX 360 I have a T.V. Tuner card in my xomputer so if I get Media Center then i can use my XBOX as a TIVO. But they say I neeed Media Center.

 

You'd have to buy MCE.

You wouldn't be able to use it from another computer you bought anyway.

Think about this one though. You can spend the money on MCE, or you can spend a little more and buya TIVO device. The 360 has a 20gb hard drive. That will not go far at all as a TIVO device.
