Is it possible to over clock each core.

Can I over clock a dual-core AMD 64-FX so that each core runs at like 2.5 ghz so the whole processors runs at 5 ghz. I seen this somewhere and I was wondering if it's possible.

so I guess all those comp running 5ghz processors on ebay are scams then damn'it

 

you can get processors up to 5ghz with phase change cooling. The guys at MaximumPC magazine got a 3.46 presler p4 extreme edition up to 5.04 with the Vapochill Lightspeed. 0 degrees C even under 100% load

 

now thats just wrong to even bring up..lol i did see that though it was so nasty,but a smidge over my budget and office space...

 

Anythimg is possible but as the previous post state you'd have to have phase cooling!

Phase cooling is about $1,500 and provides extreme cooling to a particular point, coarsely if you got a car aircondtioner and turned it on full but isolated the cooling to a small point, e.g CPU you can highly concentrate the cooling effort and "super cool" the CPU to about -15C.
