Is Johnny (football) Manziel, Living On A Chinese Rock Now?

The reason this question comes to mind is because today the NFL announced a 4 game suspension against John Boy for substance abuse. If that's the case they could suspend me for 4 games too cuz just like John boy I'm not signed with any team right now. To make things worse Johnny recently got charged with a misdemeanor for beating his so called "girlfriend." While even his own dad has nothing good to say about him or this "He's a druggie. It's not a secret that he's a druggie. Hopefully he doesn't die before he comes to his senses. I mean, I hate to say it, but I hope he goes to jail. I mean, that would be the best place for him. I'm doing my job, and I'm going to move on. If I have to bury him, I'll bury him."

Wow talk about going from the top of the world to rock bottom! That just about sums up Manziel. Only question now is what's next?

He's either going to change his name to Johnny HasBeen or Johnny BornAgain. I still gotta give him credit though for being the first person to be suspended by the NFL while not being a member of a team. That's something like getting a parking ticket even though you don't own a car.

Sad to see all that talent thrown away by an immature kid who should have finished college, gotten a degree that would have supported him later in life when his football skills wouldn't anymore.
He surely needs an intevention and rehab. Whack him in the head with a 2x4 to get his attention. What a waste.

 

The guy is 23 for goodness sake. A 'silver spoon' can often be the worst kind of start in life. Who knows what emotional stuff has caused him to fall off the road. I wouldn't go so far as to say I am sorry for him, but I'm not gonna gloat over his misfortune either, and if you watch a recent BBC TV production - 'The Insider' - where a TV presenter Reggie Yates spends a week in a Texan Jail (Bexar County Jail) look at that awful example of the 2.6 million person horror that exists in that land among people - the bulk of whom - fell off the straight narrow just like this guy.

 

I don't know about jail for Johnny. If he did some serious damage to his so called girlfriend, yes by all means throw him in the slammer. In the case of druggies though, such as those shooting heroin or other drugs now, a lot of municipalities don't believe tossing whoever in the slammer for doing drugs is going to help or do the druggie any good. In the case of Manziel, if all he was doing was drugs, I don't believe its worth wasting tax dollars and valuable prison space by tossing him in there. Those who were incriminated with serious charges of violence though, I'm afraid there's not much else you can really do about them but toss them in the slammer for the time being.

 

The problem with the USA - which has the highest per capita prison population on the entire planet - is that Prisons are a profit making business. The more you incarcerate the more money private companies make. A majority of people in prison in the USA are not there to protect anyone. No one is being safeguarded from anything. Prisons, as an example outside of standard criminality, are also being used as psychiatric institutions because normal psychiatric provision simply cannot cope.
Iceland, a nation of less people than the borough of London, UK where I live, has rightly jailed 26 bankers.
How many has the USA or the UK jailed? NONE.
How many people who operated ponzi schemes that destroyed the retirement of many 1000s of people have been slung in some Prison dump with shite food to eat? You can probably count them on the fingers of one hand.
How many judges who took bribes from private youth prisons to jail young people for petty offences been shoved into a hell hole for even a few months?
Probably none.
How many gun shop owners who have sold multiple weapons via a third party knowingly that went on to be used for murder been locked up?
Probably none.
