    Ok..be gentle...
My brother-in-law directed me to this website for insight.

I have a yamaha internal burner and I have been trying to burn music and video but the system is not recognizing the cd. It states there is no disc.

I have double checked to make sure that hardware was installed correctly and I deleted and reinstalled.

Is it fried? or am I just overlooking a simple problem??

    Thanks for any help.

Do you have problems reading discs as well? In that case - yes it's probably fried. If no:

Check if there are any firmware updates for it. Usually there are updates to make the drive handle more media.
