Is Private Internet Access Vpn Trustworthy?

I’ve been reading online that free VPNs are notoriously untrustworthy, essentially being little more than spyware.

But Private Internet Access VPN is offered for download through MajorGeeks, and appears to have been tested by the folks here.

So does anyone actually KNOW whether or not it’s trustworthy?

 

I don't think it's possible for most of us mere mortals to actually test the trustworthiness, security and privacy of VPNs. The best we can do is rely on reviews and comparisons from reliable sources. And that begs the question... Is my source more reliable than the next?

StartPage claims to be "The world's most private search engine." But is it?

DuckDuckGo claims "The search engine that doesn't track you." How do I know this is actually true?

 

In my experience you only get what you pay for with VPN......free tends to be slow and unreliable and i dont recommend trusting them.
Choose a reputable paid version, only pay for one node, then set up a dedicated VPN router to run all your home networked devices through.
Its less secure to run a vpn service through only your mainly used internet device, forgetting about any others that are connected to your home network (ie Smartphones, tablets, smart TV, X-box etc)

The best way to assess the privacy of any vpn service, is to choose one that doesnt want to know your intricate details in signing up........simply an email addy should suffice!
And also read reviews as others have stated above!

 

Remember....a good vpn service needs to run a multitude of nodes in most G10 countries in order for your internet requests to bounce of their servers quickly and securely.
This costs money to run/maintain, and any decent vpn framework are not going to give you this for nicks!
