    Fellow techs,
I used to use Gator for auto form completion, but removed it due to security concerns. Now I see this program called RoboForm, which claims to be more secure.Has anyone heard anything about this program?
Also, can anyone please remind me...what is the security risk in having a program store and fill out information on forms? If I have a firewall, so a hacker can't get into the programs personal info list on my PC, then where along the line can personal info (CC#'s, etc) be read?
I love the convienece of having online forms filled out automatically, and my personal risk tolerance is relatively high. I don't want to be naive, but I can't see being paranoid either. Are these autoform programs really that much of a security risk?
    Thanks in advance,
    DCO

personally i dont trust anything to handle my info besides my brain gator is notorious for spyware and i was just introduce to robo form major decreas in benhmark with it on anyway i dont trust anything with that info i just put everything into a notepad text document put that on my desktop and copy and paste the stuff over it may seem like a hassle but it saves your pc tremendously.

My primary concern is Gator is tagged as spyware. When you manage passwords, do you want to do it with a program known as one of the largest spyware programs out there? Not me.

Have used RoboForm for years and find it to be exceptionally workable and helpful. Have noticed no problems with security, unlike former experience with Gator.

I do not feel comfortable using any program to save my passwords. Some of my passwords I have open up bank accounts and sites that need to be opened only by me. Any program that has the ability to save passwords. Might also have the ability to send those passwords to somebody outhere

Now I am not saying that RObo does that, All I am saying that some information should never leave your brain.:D

I am using this program too. I too agree that the brain is the safer place for some things but given that Robo lets one choose how much info to provide up front; plus being open source, makes the program one I can have confidence in and suggest.

BTW, what is the reference to MyIE2? Is this a program of some kind?

    Thanks!:)

The brain may be a safer place but is it a reliable place? I hope you are writing your passwords down somewhere rather than just trusting your brain because when your brain gets old like mine...well, you don't always....you could just....oh, what the hell --- I forgot what I was going to say.

BTW, roboform does not keep your passwords, they are only on your own hard drive.
