Is There A Difference Between .mpg and .mpeg?

    I only recently got DSL and am downloading videos for the first time. Are .mpg and .mpeg the same format? I ask because I'm trying to burn this into a VCD and the software I'm using isn't working right.
    Has anyone tried VCDGear? I'm using it to convert files that can be burned, but I'm having trouble with it. Some of my files are .mpeg and some are .mpg, could this be a reason?

    Same thing, different spelling.

    I can't comment on VCDGear. Anyone?

    I agree with LEV about VCDGear but I believe .mpg and .mpeg are the same format just spelt differently. Hopefully this helps
