Here is my system. I'm VERY happy with it, but want games to load faster. After initial load, run like a dream, but would like it so you click it and boom it's there. Here is the system I'm running now, what can I do to make it faster?

    CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.0E Prescott 800MHz FSB Socket 478 Processor w/hyperthreading

You had the post on wondering if a faster hd would help this, no?
Just as a curiosity, what makes you think your load time is slow?
Did you see a comparison from another computer that was faster?
The reason I ask this, is that your computer sounds pretty fast to me.
I can't imagine it's really all that slow compared to other machines.
That being said, if you pick up a copy of Alcohol120%, you can
make an image of a game disk on your hard drive so that it's
pretty much instant on demand. If you get yourself a nice big fat drive
you could put pretty much all your favorite games in there.

my system isn't slow. In fact when playing games, I can load any game I want with all graphics settings turned all the way up. But like half life 2, doom 3 and farcry in particular, when it is loading a level from hard drive, takes like 30 to 40 seconds. I'm just impatient is all. Want it to load just about right away if possible.

"takes like 30 to 40 seconds"

We all have to wait that long. I remember back in the days of commodore 64 where some games took 30-40 MINUTES to load.

Though you might consider replacing that 333MHz RAM with a 400MHz stick, you won't lose the 30 second load times, but you might get an extra frame or two.

Well there is one other option......
You get a computer that will hold the most gigabytes of ram possible.
Then you create a ram drive. Yeah, the os in the ram.
Your load times would go to almost instantaneous.
Just a thought. But it would probably take a good 4gb of ram
to do a good sized game with the os. And of course if your power
goes off, you start all over again.....
