Is there a way to recover 7-zip.....

I would like to knows is there a way to recover a password for
a 7-zip exe files...

A program or you know something to do ...???

 

Never mind he just remember the password.

For the record, that is the best password recovery tool.

I know of no utilities designed to recover passwords from 7z archives the way there are rar and zip recovery tools.

 

Forgive me, can someone update me as to what 7-zip files are and what the advantage of them is?

It's a OSS/LGPL archive program as well as a OSS/LGPL compression format. It offers compression ratios on par with the .rar format. It is gaining popularity.

However, the 7-zip program is horrendously obnoxious. Everything bad about OSS you'll find there... IMO. Mainly the author is willing to sacrifice usability (drag and drop) because he's too lazy to code the stuff in and unwilling to work with another coder. The interface is also different than most archive programs. It's more like an FTP client than an archiver. It's just... bleah.

If you really want to use 7-zip, I suggest IZArc.

 

C_K, glad he remembered his password. May I suggest Password safe from http://www.counterpane.com for storing all your passwords. I am still using V1.7, probably updated by now, but have never found any reason to update as it does everything I want. You still have to remember ONE password to get into it, though. been using it for years to store all sorts of stuff. Hope this helps. Bazza
