Rather than having windows find everything in a folder to delete it, occasionally I would rather in delete the entire folder in the fastest way possible without having to answer a question. Is this possible?

Hold shift while deleting, this bypasses the recycle bin, so no easy recovery.
Also you can do properties on the recycle bin and uncheck the display confirm dialogue.

I'll try the shift key next. It seems to be a better option for not screwing up.

    Have you tried erasing?
I erase must of the time rather than deleting. I use a small program called Eraser. I right click and choose how many time I want the item gone over to erase it. I generally pick 3 or 7.

Sometimes it can't be erased so I hold down the shift key and select delete.

I use a file shredder for deleting my files instead of the normal delete. the files are unrecoverable. here is the program I currently use https://www.fileshredder.org/ and it's free. you can right click on the file you want to delete and click file shredder and erase file.

The issue is how long it takes to delete files. When I'm moving gigs of data around, anything I can do to speed up the process is a plus. I spent most of today moving my backup files around. I don't use cut and paste, preferring instead to use copy and paste just in case.

One of the reasons I added a two terabyte drive is because I was having to erase backup files every time I did it back up because my one gig was full. Eventually I will have to do so again. That is a price I am willing to pay.

I normally use the Advance system care system that will either Sweep or shred files easy while in the Recycle bin.I use the DOD standard 3 to 6 passes.

It will take how ever long it takes.Mainly how fast you're system is.It can be 1 min or 10 mins depending on the performance of you're current system.

As far as copying goes larger amounts of data, I use robocopy- faster than copy and paste.
Open command (Win+R type cmd), in the console (black window) type robocopy source destination /S /R:1 /XD $RECYCLE.BIN "System Volume Information" [enter]
Put the source and destination paths in there, the /S will copy subdirectories, /R:1 retries failed items one time, /XD excludes copying the recycle bin and sys volume file.

If you need a GUI checkout http://robomirror.sourceforge.net/
