Seeing as a lot of games now use the xbox360 controller profile (GTAiv) has anybody seen a program that can translate normal DirectX (I have a USB Playstation convertor) commands to Xbox360. I have come across one that does this for logitech joypads but not for standard DirectX.

    Thanks

On the PC? The controller should connect wirelessly if your computer has it. There's also supposed to be a dongle you can buy if your computer doesn't have it. XP and Vista should support it either natively, or with a driver download. Try Microsoft.com.

I do NOT have an Xbox360 controller I have a USB Playstation2 convertor that works in all directx games, thats what my post said. some new Windows Live games use XInput to read the xbox360 controller ONLY and not DirectX compatable controllers. It's Microsofts way of moving the goal posts, much like they did with thier sidewinder products when XP came out, they gave you drivers that were pretty crap and NEVER realesed any XP compatible ones for thier wheel. Thats why I'd rather not buy any microsoft hardware if I can help it.

Ah, I missed that. In theory you could get an off-brand 360 controller, but whether it would work or not...

The only other option I know of would be to write your own.
