    Not a word counter.

I need to add a counter to a group of text in a document. Each text group would have a number which would be incremented by 1.

I'm trying to avoid typing in these numbers. Is there any way that I can do this in Word? Would a macro handle something like this? I've never used macros in Word before.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve, but one way that I do a similar thing to count how many DVD titles I have is to create a new column. Add the number "1" (no quotes), beside each DVD title. This can then be "SUMmed" at the end.

For example if I have 200+ titles listed, there would be 200 x 1's, and summed at the end. Thus 200 in the SUM. :D

Also it can be used to SUM up the number of individual DVD's for the 200+ titles, by simply having another column specifying the # of DVD's per title.

For example, each year of M.A.S.H. has 3 x DVD's per year. Enter 3 against each DVD title. 11 years of M.A.S.H. means 33 individual DVD's. doh.

Is this similar to what you are getting at? Bazza
