Is there anyway you can download Windows Updates in an executable?

My girlfriend has dialup and wants to get Windows Updates, but it would take a long time.. Is there anyway I could download them and save them to CD then give them to her? I can't find anyplace that let's you download Windows Updates like that..

BTW, she's running Windows XP Home if that's of any help.

 

I believe that Microsoft has made it's updates available on CD for a small fee (their words). The info is on their site.

You're right. I'm surprised Bill is letting a few cents get by him.

 

Public perception has become more important to them as of late.

Not only that, the money MS is putting into tech support for viruses and such dwarfs the cost of the CDs. The problem is increasing, too.

Tech support costs companies money. A lot. Its generally not a money maker.

Not only that,virus support is dirt cheap.

A 2000 pro call that usually costs 245 dollars an incident, is reduced to 35 dollars (personal support prices) for virus support.

I'm not positive on this, but virus support for personal products may actually be free.

So to ship out free CDs is actually cost effective than having them call in for support.

The Security CD also includes an extra CD with trial antivirus and firewall products.
