I thought that ddr memory (not ddr2) only went as high as ddr400 (pc3200). Now I've just read about ddr500 memory (pc4000). Will that fit (and work) in my 939 motherboard?

Probably, but unless you are overclocking, you most likely will not see one iota of performance increase because of the higher rated speed.

If it's DDR motherboard, it will probably work. Whether it will run at the rated speed is a different matter.

As everyone else has stated, the RAM will probably work, but it probably will NOT run at 500mhz because your motherboard is probably only able to max out at 400mhz for the RAM. Check with the motherboard manufacturer for more info and a possible BIOS update. Even if the RAM will run at 500mhz, like Adrynalyne mentioned, you probably will not notice any change in speed, at all....

My motherboard is a jetway 939GT4-SLI and has a good setup of overclocking. Which I've beem trying with an Opteron 170 dual core (an I'm very dissapointed with the results).
