Is there some way to hide mp3 files?

I have a PC and a Mac at work. I'd like to be able to put some positive, inspirational music on one of them to play in something like iTunes to help keep me motivated and ward off fatigue. But the last time I did that, they disappeared; I think the IT director may have deleted them.

Is there a way to hide or disguise mp3 files, or a folder that contains them so they won't be deleted, but will still allow iTunes find it and play the files?
I currently play internet radio, but my tastes in music are so eclectic, it's difficult to find stations that play the music that inspires me the most (at least ones that play them on a regular basis).

If there's anything like that for my Mac, that might be best since they don't really know anything about Macs.

I'm not trying to do anything devious or harmful, and I'm not sure what harm mp3's could do.

Take up space on network and system drives that shouldnt be used for "music". Plus trying to get around your it guys at work is surely to annoy them, and possible cost you a job. You should get permission and do it that way, but that being said, in highschool we would rename our mp3's to .doc, as this would allow us to keep mp3s on the network drives.

 

Fair enough. I won't do it then. Just trying to think of ways to increase productivity for myself and the company.:-o

 

Why not use an external drive or USB flash-sticks to hold and play your music from?
