I am currently using Outlook and I keep getting asked for my passwords throughout the day....also I find I get a lot of duplicate messages since I leave the mail on the server due to having a Blackberry.

I tried Thunderbird 3 times and it is the most stubborn program around. I also tried Eudora (too many bugs) Pegasus, Opera, Foxmail and more....but multiple accounts are difficult for many packages.....

Before I stick with Outlook which I really dont want to do....or forward all my mail to Gmail.com I know someone has a good answer to the problem.

Which Software? Paid or free...It doesn't matter.

    Thank you

    Hi

Wow I think you have tried all the ones I may have suggested, but I have used this one since early betas, while its still in beta phase its quite stable for me, it allows multiple accounts from POP, IMAP, Gmail, Hotmail/MSN, Yahoo etc

Microsoft Live Mail Desktop ( XP and Vista )

and main site http://ideas.live.com/ and wiki on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Live_Mail_Desktop

It maybe worth a try as this is the only one left I can think of upto now.

I was in the same boat and found outlook to be the best/easiest. I kept files on the server as well, but selected the option to delete from server after it is emptied from the trash. I don't have a blackberry but I do switch between two computers(home and office) so I think you have the same issue. I don't want to delete the email from the server until the last computer has dowloaded it. Once it did, I just delete it. I know you would still get duplicate emails but it's better than not getting them at all with a different unreliable service.

As far as asking for the password everytime, I am not sure if you are doing this on purpose because it is a public computer or if it is a glitch with outlook. It shouldn't be asking for your password everytime if you select remember password, which you're most likely aware of.

I love Gmail and for a while I just made my homepage Google and personalized the settings to show my inbox so I could always see my box everytime I went online or used google. I don't think people utilize the personalized homepage the google offers.

So after writing all this I realized I probably didn't help, but I was bored. good luck.

    Thanks.

I am still asked for my password randomly throughout the day....very frustrating.

I just know that there is a decent program to get (free or paid) that will work...and work right.

I will look at the other e-mail MS package.

usually when it has to ask you for a password it means theres server problems. I have left my outlook open for many hours, and the only time its asked me for a password is when the server is down or messed up.

OK...I will buy that but why does it not happen with Outlook express (which I love but not advocating) which is a Free program and handles many accounts.

Unfortuneately, it has a limit on space and no spam.....but for a free stand alone it is great if you have one or 2 e-mails.

Outlook, on the other hand, just seems to constantly show me why it is a pain between the passwords and the multiple messages.

Not sure how your having issues, but i have 8 accounts being checked by pop, 3 via imap and have the password issues when the servers are having issues. Perhaps you need to do updates on your outlook maybe? Also what version of outlook are you using? A good method to start to check on this might be to remove all your accounts and re add them in.
