I am seeing this ad popping up all over the net (Don't Buy a New PC - Try This)
Anyone familiar with it?

It's a JavaScript function.

 

JavaScript is a client-side language which means it only runs in your browser, its not generated from a server.

The ads are browser specific so a good clean of all cookies on the browser your utilizing when you see this, should see this issue rectified.

I have not done anything with it. Haven't even downloaded it.
A few years back I downloaded a program guaranteed to increase my computer performance. The only guarantee I got gummed my system so, I had to have a tech strip the disc naked and reload an OP. ($$) That cost me a few dinero, and I lost a boatload of infor. If I remember correctly, it was also relaying items such as my bank account. That and other sensitive info was separately pw protected. But they sure tried.
Anyway, my curiousity was piqued
