It's a decent card for its price range. You should be able to play most of the current generation's games at reasonable settings, but don't expect to max out the graphics settings on any games.

the 7300GT is actually quite a good card despite being one of the weakest 7 series cards. The 512mb of RAM wont really do any better than 256mb on a card such as that because its just not fast enough to process all the data that can be stored in 512mb or vram. Its not going to hurt it but just a heads up; dont may more money just because it has more RAM. 256mb is pretty much all you need until you get into high end cards.

this card right here would be a better deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143067

or you could grab one of these for the same price (after rebate) as the ebay card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150182 which would outperform the 7300GT by a lot

etid: ah, i see that u say u already bought it....ha ok well anyways, its gonna get the job done for ya

I figured if I didn't like it, I could sell it and get most of my money back.

It will also be a while before I get games that require a better card. I mostly have the card to stabelize my system (It's a Dell) and get the most of my digital monitor.

lol dude crysis is a dx10 game, so u cant "max it out" with a 7900GS although it will still look damn pretty. You'll need an nvidia 8k series card to enjoy it fully

Though, the cysis team did say, that lesser cards will work with the game. Just don't expect it to be as pretty. ;)

yea thats pretty much what i was trying to say. You just need a DX10 card to actually be able to "max it out" with the extra DX10 stuff

Directx 10 is built into Vista and the Release Candidate has been out for a while and it's already been shipped to corporations and will be available for consumers come this January. Right about now is prime time for Directx 10 cards. :)

    Back to the drawing board

The PCI graphics express card is too big for my xps 200 chasis. Some lessons have to be learned the hard way. Next time, I will not to buy a standard chasis.:(

Which one? If ya mean the 8800 gtx at 11", then yes, it is quite a large card. But, the, 8800 GTS is actually shorter.

The nVidia Geforce 7300GT that I bought. My chasis is about 5 inches wide/deep.

Yeah, the dell chassis's are never standard sizes, my brother has a DELL and couldn't fit a radeon 9800 pro AGP in there because the hard drives were between the cpu and ram (seriously, no joke)

And a 7900gs wont run crysis at near max. Nobody nows how Crysis will run, but I think even a 7900gt will have to scale down on this game alot, much less a 7900gs.

In order to see Crysis in it's full glory, you'll need a directX 10 card. I suspect that even with my 7900GT, I won't be seeing it like it was made to be seen.
