For the past couple days, everytime I'm on the internet a pop-up box comes on asking if I want to install flash media. At first I thought it was associated with the website but now it's happening all the time. I usually x out of it but that is not stopping this. It is driving me and my computer crazy. How do I stop this problem?

Would the name Macromedia be mentioned in this popup?

as in this or similar from same company

if so they are safe and needed for some of the multimedia content on alot of websites these days.

if not Post a screenshot of the popup and we should be able to tell you what it is and if any Malware removal processes are necassary.

    BTW Welcome :)

Yes, sorry for the confusion, it is macromedia. It looks like the one posted here (not the one in the link). However, the box does not give me the option to "never ask me again", it just says do you want to install or not. Previously, it would pop up every now and then on a site that I expected it from so I never thought much about it. I assumed it was an option connected to allowing someone to access that site. But now it's just popping up all over the place, even on sites that are text only. This can't be normal. It must be stopped!

I don't know how to make a copy of the box to post here, could you tell me how?

Well, somehow, in fiddling around with the pinrt screen and the pop up box it looks like I have managed to disable it, even though my computer keeps telling me I need to enable it. Hopefully that will resolve the problem.

    Thanks for your help!
