Is this file the optimized SP2 update?

I have a file on my hardrive i just noticed. It is a bunch of numbers and letters and when you open it up it has a file called sp2 in it. When u open that file it has an spuninstall rpogram and an update file in it. In the update file there is an installer for sp2. Is this the sp2 that was automatically donwloaded by the update manager? Is this the version u can use on single computers?

SP2 downloaded via Windows Update will install exactly the same things the Network download does.

The file you are looking at is the temp folder that SP2 extracted to when you last installed it. It should have deleted itself.

Seems that it already is. I got an Automatic Updates message telling me to download SP2 this morning.

Not sure if thats because its a later relese than the version of SP2 I have, or whether its publicaly available yet.

 

I got the same thing last night, so I just went ahead and downloaded it. At first I wasn't sure if I should let it go thru, but as I was only running the beta before I thought that it couldn't hurt.

 

I think I have the beta. But now, ive got RTM it seems!
