Hey guys I have been ferreting around for a new PC and I found that I could customize a computer with Vigor for a price i could live with. But I wanted an expert opinion on how good it is. so here are the specs

PROCESSOR Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400 at 2.13GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 2M Cache

RIG COOLING Vigor Cool BlastTM Air Vent with Dual 90MM and 80MM (Top) Case Fan

RIG POWER Standard AMD/Intel Certified 500 Watt Power Supply

MB CORE LOGIC Asus P5N-SLI nVidia nForce 570 SLI MCP w/1066MHz FSB

    MEMORY 2GB Corsair PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz Memory (2 X 1024MB)

HARD DRIVE 1 320GB S-ATA II 7200 RPM Hard Drive

VIDEO CARD (SLI SLOT 1) nVidia GeForce 7950 GT 512MB XXX @600MHz, DVI and TV Out

OPTICAL DRIVE 1 Internal 16X Dual Layer DVD+/- RW + 24X CDRW Rewritable Drive

OPTICAL DRIVE 2 Internal DVD+CD Rewritable Combo Drive 16X52X32X52

    RECORDING SOFTWARE Bundled DVD/CDRW Software

SOUND Digital High Definition 3D 7.1 8-Channel Sound

NETWORK PORT Onboard Gigabit (10/100/1000Mbps) PCI Network Card

    I/O PORTS 1 Parallel, 1 Game/Midi, 1 IEEE 1394 Firewire and 10 USB ports

    MONITOR LG L1952TX 19" 1280X1024 1400:1 8ms LCD Monitor

    SPEAKERS Logitech X230 2.1 3-Channel Speakers w/Subwoofer

KEYBOARD Standard Black Internet Multimedia Keyboard

MOUSE Standard Black Optical Wheel Mouse

FLOPPY DRIVE 1.44MB 3.5" Floppy Drive Plus 8-in-1 Card Reader

OPERATING SYSTEM Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) 2005 with Free Vista Home Premium Upgrade

So is this thing good or should i keep looking for something else?
P.S. i'm still going to look for a cheaper price but I would at least like to have an opinion of the specs so that I can compare with the features on other computers.
Also are Vigor computers good or should i look into another company?

being a bit of a noob my self so be warned hehe...

    i think it looks ok.

but i belive maybe the power surply is a bit small. but ok

    the 7950, isent a DX10 card.
what about a 8800 GTS insted ? but it cost about a tird more. i think.

and onboard sound isent so good. and i belive drains CPU power. but maybe you have one from youre old PC ?.

yea id get an 8800GTS or GTX instead of the 7950. it shouldnt cost much more but will perform better and last MUCH longer due to it being a directx10 card. never heard of that company though

If you gonna get the 8800 get a 1000 watt supply, 500 will not cut it.
Your buying from Vigor? I would buy the parts separately and assemble it yourself, its way cheaper. Ive seen some companies charge more for parts than they actaully cost. Could save you hundreds.

yea,the 7900GS is a great budget card that will play every game out there quite well. doesnt support dx10 but since there arent any games out or mid-range cards then the 7900GS is a good card for ya. You can always upgrade it later

    yes but read the link

    Gainward 7900 GS ?

    http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=34406

offcource a 8800 GTX would be to prefer. and is one that i have just ordered,

but as a budget vid.card. the Gainward 7900 GS
(witch aperently is better than the 7900 GT !!!!)
    should be a good card,

everybody can allways say buy a 8800 GTX or GTS, but it is so expensive that not all would buy it, or need it

hate to rain on ur parade ukarmycadet but check this out:

(i chose XFX cards because they run much faster than other versions)
    XFX 7600GT:
    $115.99 after rebate
    590mhz core 1600mhz memory
    128-bit interface
    12 pixel pipelines

    XFX 7900GS:
    189.99 after rebate
    600mhz core 1600mhz memory
    256-bit interface
    20 pixel pipelines

the 7900GS beats the pants off the 7600GT in all tests, check it out for yourself. Yes, both cards are strong performers but the 7900GS IMO is a better card for the money. Yes, it costs a bit more but its definitely worth it

I will be glad to build a computer for you. I am an authorized AMD dealer based out of Ohio. An alienware computer I saw for $3,000, I built for $900. I'm currently in the process of building my own home system in which I'm actually opting for the 7950gx2 (dual video processors, 1gb video memory, 48 pipelines, etc.) The 8800gts is having big problems right now with overheating and artifacting. You're gonna need that baby water cooled as it runs at 57 degrees celsuis at idle temps (Maximum PC article). The 7950gx2 runs much cooler, and it is dx9 compatible, and very vista ready. You're not really gonna need the dx10 capability for a long while. I'm building a gaming rig with:

    AMD AM2 X2 5200+
    Asus Crosshair motherboard
    XFX GeForce 7950 GX2
Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
2x 500Gb SATA II Western Digital drives
    Zalman CPU cooler
    Antec TruePower 650w power supply
2x Samsung 19"Widescreen flatpanel monitors w/2ms response time (GTG)
    all for under $2500:cool

    mmmm... you say
    1. what is normal temp for it in game. ?

    2. what is the problem with artifacting. ?

    3. is these problems also in the 8800 GTX. ?
or does that have other problems ?

(interested since i have ordered one 8800 GTX )

you say that the 7950 GX2 have 48 pipelines . how meny does the 8800 GTX have ?

    ps. http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html?modelx=33&model1=606&model2=516&chart=211

the gx2 has 48 pipelines because its 2 7900GTX stuck together. the 8800GTX is a completely different architecture since its a dx10 card; it has 128 "stream processors"

after a quick google search it turns out that its just the 8800gts that is having the problems so u should be OK
