I have a Packard bell note book, with windows 7 lite installed, would it be possible to install Apple leopard OS on it ? (the note book is about 7-8 months old)

    If not, why not ?

After all it is just an operating system,

Hope this dont seem a daft question

Its not possibly because of the way apple limits osx to there hardware. I believe it boils down to a chip thats in place on all the macs motherboards that isn't present on any normal pc type hard ware.

    Well, according to this: http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/macosx1071_usb.pdf.

    Nope, I guess not.

Ah, right, I guess they have it all tucked up then

Has anyone ever tried to install it on a non apple laptop/pc ?

What is this chip in a apple laptop then ?

I would have thought that some clever bugger here would have that sorted out and running on everything

    Any reason why not ?

I thought this snow leopard software was supposed to be really good (I cant afford an apple laptop or iMac)

Just wondered if it was possible and viable
