On Monday night my network started loosing it's internet conection every 3 minutes or so and then connecting again after about 3 minutes. I have had network this setup for about 5 months and it has worked perfectly since then. I have a Netgear DG834G router connected to 5 computers, 2 via wireless, 1 via direct LAN and 2 bridged to one of the wireless computers with a LAN hub... Since Monday night I have been recieving IP address conflicts on all the computers at random times, (usually when one of the computers is started up, but not always). I have BT broadband but on Monday I signed up for Bulldog broadband over the phone, I then cancelled the same day as it was a rip off. The problem seems to have been since then. Is there any chance Bulldog broadband might have done this to my phone line? If so how do I find out? I'm torn between blaming a router malfunction and the phone line, but it's been 3 days since it started and BT are usually very good when it comes to fixing problems at their exchanges. When the problem started on Monday night, only two of the computers were running, but the problem affects all the computers on the network.
I really don't know where to start with this problem...

I doubt that Bulldog would be causing this as it generally takes a few days to go through a change of ISP ( disconnect from one then the other to connect you )

Have you switched off your router and started it again?

Unplug all PCs ( plus all phones, leave only router connected to line ) apart from one main one and try again.

Check the DSL filters... sometimes they go bad, use the 1 connected PC to test.

Could also try reseting it to default and entering the PPPoA info again, user and password etc

Is your line at present suffering from noise ( crackles and stuff ) if so and I would do it anyway call BT Broadband support and tell them you are having connection problems and ask them to do a line test.... this happened to me a few weeks back suddenly wouldnt connect to server at ISP all day.. even tho it was working 4hrs earlier... soon as chatting to support and them doing a test up popped my connection, sadly no explanation was given, even tho I pressed them for one.

Strange, if you were using NAT (which it looks like you are) IP conflicts on the private network shouldn't be related to your connection to your ISP. The only reason that might cause IP conflicts is if you were using an IP address range, rather than having the computers share one external IP.

What IPs have your computers got at the moment? A couple of examples would let you see whether they are correctly getting the private IP address (typically 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x), or are trying to use the external IP.

Check and make sure nobody else is accessing your network via wireless. Also that you're still not using the default password to access your router. Simple stuff, but I know of instances where neighbors etc accessed nearby networks to wreak connectivity havoc.
