I have a message popping up from Panda AV/Firewall saying that the Trivial File Transfer Protocol program has been recently changed and is trying to access the net. What should I do - allow it to connect on this occassion/always/never?

When in doubt Block till you know!

Is simple form of FTP and provides no security features.
It is often used by servers to boot Diskless workstations, X-terminals, and routers.
Used to transfer files from computer to another over network usually without the use of client authentication (no username or password)
Are you on home network and sharing files? if so may want to allow?
    HUM!

Want to find out more Google it, maybe someone else can enlighten you more on it!
    I'm no expert

    Need more spoonfeeding

Thanks guys for the advice, but I have already Googled the links you mentioned. What I need to know however is whether it is safe for me to block TFTP permanently in Panda firewall, or do some programs legitimately require it. What is your advice?
(Also, I've noticed that every time that I allow SERVICES to access the net, a second later I get an annoying Messenger popup. Is it safe to permanently block SERVICES as well, or at least switch off Messenger?) I have a standalone laptop running an ADSL connection. I occasionally transfer files to my other laptop via infrared, or a USB dongle, or a crossover cable-> will blocking TFTP and/or SERVICES cause complications?

Your help is much appreciated guys (I am unemployed and writing my CVs on the laptop, so when that goes down, I'm stuck up the proverbial s**t creek without a paddle!)
